This weekend is Maker Faire, the ultimate festival for makers, creators, inventors, and DIY enthusiasts! This is my second year going to Maker Faire at the New York Hall of Science. You can read my post about last year’s here. This year, the Hive Learning Network NYC has a large and exciting youth presence at Maker Faire!
Youth from Hive NYC member organizations like Global Kids, DreamYard, THE POINT, WNYC’s Radio Rookies, Museum for African Art, MOUSE, Cooper-Hewitt, and others will be leading design challenges, a scavenger hunt, and documenting the entire event through social media, photo, and video.
Folks will be tweeting all day with the hashtag (#hivebuzz).
Also, youth will be live blogging on our Tumblr here!
You can find the Hive NYC at the Young Makers Pavilion all weekend 9/17 & 9/18.
For you foodies, there’s a lot of good food samples and food trucks at Maker Faire as well, which I’ll definitely be checking out! :o)
